Preparation before having your carpets cleaned

We have decided to create a page dedicated to what you should expect from us and what we expect from the customer prior to our arrival. We are often asked by our customers what they should do to prepare. I hope this information will answer most peoples questions.

Below is a list of steps to complete before our arrival. Please don't start this list when we arrive. We schedule each job with about 15-30 minutes extra time to account for moving furniture and extra spot cleaning that may be needed.

If we get to your house and your house looks like the picture to the left, we will have to reschedule and assess a $25.00 fee. We don't mean to sound harsh, but it really comes down to: time is money. Especially during the Spring and Summer months, our schedule gets booked up to the max and we have very little extra time. The fee is assessed because by rescheduling, you are in a sense taking up two slots of our time. This takes time that could have been given to someone else that we may have had to turn away because we couldn't fit them it. So please take that into consideration when setting up an appointment. Thanks ;)

Now that we got that out of the way, below is the preparation check list.

  1. Make sure you have all nick-knacks and breakables off the area that you would like us to clean. Also clear these items off any furniture that you would like us to move. We will move any furniture that is from 5lbs to 150lbs that is cleared of any items. If you want us to only clean the traffic areas, you can leave your knickknacks in place. We will clean around them with out disturbing them.
  2. Try to vacuum before our arrival. If you don't get to this, we can pre vacuum, but try to get at least the bigger debris taken care of.
  3. Make sure we have a outside water source to tap into. Some people think we bring water, which we do sometimes for smaller jobs. The reasons we don't bring water is the amount of extra time it would take to go back to the shop between each job would make our business almost non-profitable. Also, water weighs A LOT, and the extra wear and tear it puts on the suspension and the extra gas needed to haul that weight makes it unpractical to do.
  4. Make sure all animals are in a secure location prior to our arrival. I've gotten bit by a dog that someone said wouldn't bite. So when someone says to me that their dog is good and won't bite, I tend not to believe it. No one can predict the behavior of an animal. Keep our technicians safe and avoid costly medical bills by having them in a secure location away from the area that is being cleaned.
